Keith Turney

Since the late 1980s Keith Turney has worked tirelessly to improve safety throughout the industrial climbing sector. About nine years ago he started developing a new fall arrest product which he believes will improve the safety of employees working at height.

He has been a member of the Safety Committee of the National Federation of Master Steeplejacks and Lightning Conductor Engineers since 1998 and this has involved negotiations and demonstrations of working methods with the HSE in the development of the proposed Working at Height Regulations. In addition he took responsibility for the development and writing of the new British Standard 2830 – Industrial Climbing Steeplejack Methods. Keith is a member of the fall arrest product committee for British Standards – PHS.

Awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Distinguished Service Award.
